The APP (Atactic Polypropylene) Torch Applied Modified Bituminous Waterproofing Membrane is a highly durable, flexible, and heat-resistant solution designed for high-performance waterproofing applications. It is composed of a blend of bitumen modified with APP (a plastic-based polymer), making it ideal for use in environments exposed to extreme temperatures. Torch-On Roofing Membrane



Installation Guidelines:

  1. Surface Preparation:

    • Ensure that the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, and debris. Any rough spots should be smoothed, and cracks should be filled to create a uniform application surface.

    • A suitable primer should be applied to improve adhesion between the membrane and the substrate.

  2. Torch Application Process:

    • Heating the Membrane: Use a propane torch to heat the underside of the membrane. Move the torch evenly across the surface to melt the bitumen layer, making it sticky.

    • Applying the Membrane: Slowly roll out the membrane onto the surface while continuously heating it. Use a roller to press down the membrane and ensure full contact with the substrate.

    • Overlapping: Ensure that adjacent rolls overlap by at least 75mm (3 inches) to create a watertight seal between sheets. The overlap should also be heated to ensure bonding.

  3. Seams and Details:

    • Pay extra attention to seams, corners, and edges to prevent potential weak spots where water could penetrate. Consider applying extra layers or using reinforcement materials in critical areas.

    • Flashing and upstands should be carefully sealed using torch-applied techniques to ensure complete waterproofing.

  4. Curing Time:

    • The membrane adheres fully once cooled, and no additional curing time is required, allowing for immediate waterproofing protection after installation.

Maintenance:

  • Routine Inspections: Conduct periodic inspections, especially after severe weather conditions, to ensure the integrity of the membrane.

※ Construction Methods


This product is able to adopt construction methods as follows:  Torch applied.



※  Storage and Transport


1. Products of different types or specifications shall not be mixed in stock.


2. SBS elastomeric bitumen membrane should be kept dry and ventilated, without exposure to the sun or rain.


3. The temperature of the storage shall not be higher than 45 ℃. Stockpile the membranes flatwise, whose stockpile height shall not exceed five layers.


4. Prevent tilt or side pressure during transportation. Felt covering is required if necessary.


5. Time of storage shall at least be one year from the date of manufacture, under normal storage conditions for the product.
